High School Equivalency Diploma and Transcript Request
If you passed all four subject areas of the GED Test, Congratulations on Your Achievement ! The Alaska Adult Education office will use the address you supplied when filling out your GED Testing account to mail out an Alaska High School Equivalency Diploma.
The Alaska High School Equivalency Diploma is issued by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development and signed by the Commissioner of Labor. It is the counterpart to the Alaska High School Diploma. Each graduate will receive a high-quality certificate that excludes testing scores and other information available on their GED® transcript.
Important Note
Alaska High School Equivalency Diploma and transcripts will be issued using your full legal name. This information will be attained from your GED profile. Please make sure to use your correct address and contact information when setting up your account.
Transcripts
Alaska uses GEDCredentialing™ which is administered by Parchment LLC, an external, internet-based digital credential service, to manage, verify, and fill all transcript requests. Students who have completed their GED testing and graduated with a High School Equivalency Diploma, regardless of the year passed, are managed by Parchment.
Students who completed their GED testing after July 1, 2020, are entitled to a complimentary copy of their eTranscript. Test-takers will receive Smart Transcripts via a secure PDF once they complete the GED test battery. This happens in real time, when the student has earned an Alaska High School Equivalency Diploma.
Additional or duplicate transcripts may be order from Parchment for $15 each.
High School Equivalency Diploma
Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce (DOLWD) will issue an original high school equivalency diploma upon completion of GED testing.
An Alaska High School Equivalency Diploma is only valid if it is issued from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development and signed by the Commissioner of Labor.
Students may request a duplicate diplomas through the Adult Education State Office. Duplicate diplomas are available for $10 and must be paid by cashier's check.
